Monday = DISASTER!!

Sunday night I couldn't fall asleep to save my life so I decided to get up and work on the kids teacher gifts. A woke up and wanted to help (which has come back to bite me in the rear) so I figured, why not. It was way easier than fighing with her!

I didn't set an alarm and of course, overslept. So at 7:43, I look at the clock and freak out! A got up with no problems, J told me that her tummy was still sleepy and she didnt't want to get up. I had to bribe with donuts for breakfast to get her up.

We were walking out the door at 8:01 (pretty good in my opinion!) and I realize that the kids carseats are in the garage and have to go in my truck. Get the carseats and kids in the truck and pull out of the driveway at 8:07 (still doing ok) get to the donut shop and go to the drive thru. I place our order and the truck behind me rear ends me!! REALLY?!?!? All that in the first 45 minutes of being awake!! Luckily there was no damage, good thing I have a truck!

The rest of the day was pretty decent all things considered until I thought it would be a good idea to try to make a quadruple batch of homemade fudge . . . I used the Canation Famous Fudge recipe found here http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/18456/CARNATION-Famous-Fudge/detail.aspxThe recipe calls for mini marshmallows. I didnt have the mini ones and figured it wouldn't make that big of a difference, I mean a marshmallow is a marshmallow, right? WRONG!!!! I was stirring that stupid batch of fudge for over an hour!! I even had to put it back over heat to keep it melting.

It ended up tasting pretty good so I suppose it was worth it . . .

Current Ally-isms

We saw a nativity scene on the way home the other night. A looks out the window and says 'Look Mommy! it's Mary, God, and the Indians!"
We think she is getting Thanksgiving and Christmas a *little* mixed up!
A few days later, she said it again and K asked her who Mary is. She looked at me and said "Mommy, you know who Mary is . . . . . She had a little lamb!!"
K and I looked at each other and cracked up! I decided that once we get to Alabama, we will be finding a church and making sure that the kids actually know who Mary is!!

I am off to finish up a few bow orders! Hope everyone is staying warm!

So begins my journey . .

At the urging of a few faithful friends, I have decided to begin blogging about the things that only happen in my world . . .
And to start it all, the most recent life lesson in J's world.
After getting home from the OSS Christmas party, we were trying to get the girls wound back down from having an evening of fun playing at Leonardo's. K was reading to A in her room and J was nowhere to be found. I wandered into the living room to see if I could find her. She saw me and started to slowly walk my way with her hand behind her back. Now for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of a 3 year old who is a little sassy and trying to get some attention, the hand behind the back is a sign that you are about to get upset with your child!
I asked her what she had, her response was "Mommy you didn't get me my bitamins(vitamins)" She held her hand out to me and showed me that she had her vitamins in her hand!!! Little Turkey!!! I left the bag with our meds for our trip out where she could reach it and she opened the child proof vitamin bottle! Hello, those are supposed to be CHILD PROOF!!
K and I explained that if you take more medicine than you are supposed to, you have to go to the hospital. As K tried to think of a consequence at the hospital that might make J rethink getting into the vitamins, A chimed in with "They will take you apart at the hospital!" J's eyes got really wide and scared. K had to tell her they wouldn't take her apart but she might have to get a shot. That got her attention even more that A's comment!
I hate using shots as a scare tactic but a mom's gotta do . . .

Wow, that ended up being a little longer than I anticipated! I am off to finish up a few Christmas presents before I cant keep my eyes open any longer . . . bear with me as I try to figure this whole blogging thing out and don't think too poorly of me if I misspell a word or two or make little to no sense. It will all come together in the end!!
